FPC Mission Partner: Overseas Council

Overseas Council targets leaders who are called by God to make a difference in the World where the Gospel is rapidly spreading and changing lives. Often these leaders make significant sacrifices to follow His calling. OC is called to provide the training they need to be effective pastors, teachers and evangelists who keep the Church rooted in truth and responsive to society. Work is ongoing in Africa, Asia, Eurasia, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa to develop training that is culturally relevant and biblically sound. With this training, these leaders catalyze the next generation of Christian leaders around the world. Together they advance God's Kingdom in a perpetual cycle of conversion and growth…like Peter.  God called Peter in Nairobi, Kenya. OC helped Peter get training at a partner school there. He now serves more than 1000 people by creating small group programs at a church in the city.

The person 1st Pres works with at Overseas Council is Dan Tidwell.  He is Overseas Council Southern U.S. Regional Director.  In that capacity, his primary ministry function is to introduce OC to new friends, maintain communication with current friends and solicit funding for the OC projects and scholarships around the globe.  For more information or to contact Dan: Phone: 713.367.6130  Email: dtidwell@overseas.org

December 2012 Update
First, going against all current political correctness, and with a greeting that seems to be more and more under attack these days, I say to you with a warm heart and firm conviction that Jesus is the reason for the season… MERRY CHRISTmas!

Secondly, in this joyous time of Christian sharing and caring, let me treat you with a story that can be found on the OC website, but may have been missed if you do not visit that site regularly. It’s a story of a man, Kennedy, being called by God for ministry, being trained to be impactful in ministry, and then multiplying his training by training other church leaders.
