AV Ministry Needs Volunteers!!!

1/3/2012 2:10:48 PM

Jay High would love for you to consider joining the AV team.

Is your New Year’s resolution to listen to that little voice prompting you to be more involved at First? We would love for you to join us as a volunteer on the Audio Visual (AV) team! There are all types of fascinating things that you can do to develop and stretch your creative and technical talents.

Are you a multi-tasker that loves to play video games?  You may be perfect to work on the camera switcher creating videos of the services to be live-streamed, or used as a podcast on the website. Follow the worship services as switch between five remote-controlled services bringing First services into people’s homes, computers and handheld devices! (Right: Student, John Shaw, directs an 9:00 AM contemporary service).

Are you calm under pressure and enjoy being creative on your computer? Our AV screen operators are responsible for what you see on the video screens during the services. Your ministry could be creating slides for worship songs, displaying Gerrit’s sermon slides, playing videos and putting up photographs during baptism -  just to name a few. (Left: Auto mechanic, Tim Smith, displays the lyrics of a worship song).

Are you the go-to person in your family for making little videos for birthdays, graduations and just cool stuff? Come help us shoot and edit videos! Our editing equipment is second-to-none, and the transition from iMovie or the Windows video editor isn’t too difficult… we’ll train you!  Help us create missions videos or videos for special services. (Right: Yours truly films the worship team for use in a video).

Are you interested in lighting? We have a state-of-the-art lighting console and new sanctuary lighting, but still do not have a volunteer to operate the lights during the services. It’s easy to learn and we will teach you everything you need to know! (Right: An empty chair at the lighting console is waiting for you!).

Are you (or your son or daughter or someone your know) interested? Whether you are young, old, or in-between, we would love to have you on the team! We need a few more volunteers to prepare for our expanding media capabilities and the upcoming General Assembly. Does any or all of this sound fun and up your alley? Email me at jay@fpcbr.org or come up the AV booth during any service and talk with Jay High, Media Director.

May God richly bless you and yours this New Year!
