A man with short dark hair and a light yellow shirt smiles outdoors near First Presbyterian Baton Rouge, greenery softly blurred behind him.

Darin Travis is the Associate Pastor for Discipleship. Raised in Indiana, he fell in love with Jesus his junior year at Purdue University. He became involved with Cru (formerly named Campus Crusade for Christ), and though he thoroughly enjoyed his engineering studies, he decided the Lord was leading him to pursue ministry. He served with Cru for twenty years, the last seven being the campus director at Louisiana State University, and in 2017, he left campus ministry to become a pastor at First Presbyterian. He has a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary and was ordained in January of 2021.

Darin has served the church as the pastor in charge of discipleship, young adults, and men’s ministry. In particular, he oversees our Sunday school classes, our year-round and seasonal community groups, our men’s ministry efforts, and he especially enjoys helping graft those in their 20s and 30s into the life of the church.
