Class for Parkinson's Patients and the Elderly
Posted: 08/28/2024
Parkinson’s disease, the most common neurodegenerative disease of the elderly, is characterized by the progressive loss of muscle control. Dance is listed by the American Parkinson Disease Association as one of the best forms of physical activity. It provides exercises for balance, mobility, and gait but also aids in general cognition and response to external cueing. This class offers community and encouragement.
Classes are held each Friday, 9–11.30 am, in Sanctuary Building room 219 (mirrored classroom). It is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the church office 225.387.0617.
