Ashley and MacGregor Magruder – Field Life
MacGregor and Ashley offer rest, coaching, spiritual direction, and debriefing to missionaries, pastors, and other Gospel workers at Tributary Retreat Center and around the world through Field Life. Their ministry helps workers remember their calling and remain emotionally, spiritually, and physically healthy, allowing them to be more effective. Thanks to the support of generous partners, they provide all their hosting and Soul Care services free of charge, so finances never prevent Gospel workers from receiving the rest and care they need. They are excited to be empowered by this congregation’s support and prayers to serve God in this way.

Bethany Centre – Uganda
Bethany Centre is a Christian ministry established by Ugandan native Peter Kiwanuka who attended LSU and regularly attended worship at First Presbyterian Church. After returning to Uganda in 2004, he mobilized community members to establish Bethany Centre which is now a thriving primary and high school with attendance of over 750 children with a Sunday worship service. The school is a refuge for vulnerable children providing education, food, clothing, and health screenings. The campus includes the primary school, a high school building, a boy’s dormitory, a girl’s dormitory, and 2 houses for teachers.
School expenses are provided by financial donations from individuals and other partners including First Presbyterian Church who has also given to this needy community through capital grants on several essential projects that have improved their quality of life.

EduNations – Building and Operating Christian-Based Schools in Sierra Leone
EduNations is a nonprofit organization that builds and operates Christian-based schools in Sierra Leone that are devoted to providing free, quality education to children who otherwise would not receive one. It operates 15 schools in 6 villages and serves roughly 3700 students. Each village includes an Evangelical Presbyterian Church formed as a result of the Christian-based education at the schools.
Last year, the six EPC Sierra Leone churches planted 22 additional churches in surrounding villages. Of the 380 students in the Senior Secondary School that have come from the entirely Muslim community, 264 have made public professions of faith in Jesus Christ.

Katherine and Brian Miller – Medellin, Colombia
In 2013, God gave Brian and Katherine a vision to create Global Transformation Ministries (GTM) to connect influential individuals with a passion to help reach and serve the “least of these” within their communities. In 2014, GTM planted their first church in Medellin. In 2016, they started a university in Medellin, followed by a crisis pregnancy home (Esther’s House) for street girls within the city.
Through it’s church plant, GTM reaches out to emerging leaders through a vibrant university ministry dedicated to training Christian leaders. These leaders, in return, reach out to the impoverished in their own communities. By doing so, Christ is making a complete transformation beginning in local communities and expanding throughout the nation. -

Pete Mitchell – Mission to the World (MTW)
Pete and his late wife Ruth have been with Mission to the World (MTW) since June 1990, serving in France since February 1992. As college students, they wanted to serve where there weren’t many Christians to build up the church for the glory of God. Today Pete’s primary responsibilities are leadership, preaching, worship leading and exploratory mission.
Pete leads the MTW church planting team serving in southern France. The team is working in Marseilles and Toulouse alongside a French Reformed Church pastor to revitalize an existing church on the East side of Toulouse but are putting most of their effort into a church plant on the west side of Toulouse where Pete lives.

The Smiles Foundation – Bringing Hope and Smiles to Romania
In 1990, the Smiles Foundation’s founders Kevin Hoy and Nia Jones, visited state orphanages, hospitals and schools in Romania. Of the thousands of children seen, one shocking observation is remembered – a total lack of smiles. They set about changing that and, in 1997, The Smiles Foundation was established to put smiles on faces in the name of Christ; To help people, especially children, to know they are loved whatever their circumstances; To share God’s bounty with those in need of basic shelter, food and love.
For over 20 years, mission trips have provided opportunities for people to see the work of Smiles and participate in the program through building, painting, gardening as well as food preparation and distribution to families in need.
